"Money is the root of all evil"
Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the opinion above. Support your point of view with reasons and/or examples from your own experience, observations, or reading.
Whether money is the root of all evil or not depends upon how it is used or spent. Although sometimes money may seem to be the root of the evil, the evil is done in fact by the intentions of the person/people who is/are using the money. Money is only the tool to do good or evil. And the evil may be caused by the uneven distribution of money in the society.
The most important point is that the intention of the person using the money. It is always the person who decides whether to use the money he has for good or bad. For instance if we take the example of Kings in the World History, they spent the enormous amount of money they had to expand their terrotories, fighting fierce battles, making more and more enemies. Here is is clear that the intention of the King is what is being manifested. Money is being used only as a tool to accomplish the King's ambitions.
Some may argue that if money is not invented in the first palce, these evil intentions of people would never develop. But is it completely true? Even in the oldest civilizations when money was not invented, there used to be exchange of the things in trade, in the "Barter System". This is also one kind of money itself. People used to barter horses, gold, precious gems for food, grains, army etc.,
Another important factor which causes the money to breed evil is its inconsistent distribution among people. In order to earn more and more money some people end up causing evil to others. In modern days a person\'s success is guaged by the amount of money he earns, and naturally he strives to earn more money.
In sum, it is not the money which is the root of all evil, but it is the intention of the person and trend in the society which is the root of the evil.
