Last updated: 13 Oct 2008

The major problem types you will encounter in sentence correction are:

  1. Parallel construction
  2. Subject/verb agreement
  3. Pronoun problems
  4. Comparisons
  5. Misplaced/dangling modifier
  6. Idioms and idiomatic expressions
  7. Verb tenses
  8. Subjunctive mood
  9. Redundancy
  10. Quantity words

We will take a look at just the first four of these problem types in the tutorial today.

The other problem types are somewhat less common in the exam, and we will deal with them in later tutorials.

  1. I have read the first four types of sentence correction problem and they are excellent. Where can I find the other six?

  2. Our idiomatic expressions tutorial covers one further type.

The last 5 are less common and will be the subject of a forthcoming tutorial.
